Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head SC
At Chris Mohler, DDS, we utilize leading-edge technology to enhance the quality of your results. Precision dentistry begins with technology, which is why we remain at the forefront of our field by offering services using the most up-to-date technology.
Electric Hand Pieces
We use electric hand-pieces for most of our restorative procedures. This means less vibration and noise, resulting in a more comfortable experience for patients.
Digital X-Rays
Dental x-rays provide an inside view of your oral health and capture images that cannot be seen by the eye. For instance, x-rays allow Dr. Mohler to see between your teeth and under the gums to assess jawbone and tooth-root health. Dental x-rays also aid in developing treatment plans and in diagnosing trauma to a tooth, jawbone, or jaw joints. There are various dental complications that stem from these unseen areas, which is what makes x-rays an essential part of your dental care.
Your health and safety are important to us, which is why we only use digital imaging. Compared to traditional radiograph technology, digital imaging produces significantly less radiation than traditional radiographs and is safe for patients of all ages. However, Dr. Mohler only recommends x-rays when necessary.
Laser Dentistry
Dr. Mohler may use a dental laser for specific treatments where ultimate precision is necessary. Dental lasers often do not require local anesthesia, eliminates the need for sutures, and are safe and effective for both children and adults. Additionally, the recovery following laser dental treatments is much faster than traditional surgical methods.
Dr. Mohler may use a dental laser to treat the following:
- Gum disease
- Canker sores or oral ulcers
- Frenectomy (tongue-tie release)
- Gum recontouring – crown lengthening, gingivectomy, and other gum treatments
Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT)
CBCT is a digital imaging machine that produces 3D images of the upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints, bone volume for implant placement, and other pathology necessary for diagnostics or treatment planning. Additionally, Dr. Mohler uses the Galileos CBCT unit
for guided implant placement to ensure the most effective results in implant dentistry. This technology allows Dr. Mohler to handle all implant cases in-house, resulting in lower fees for patients.
